 INTERIOR DESIGNER / INTERIOR ARCHITECT
(MATERNITY COVER WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND)


Start date: Ideally July/August but we can be flexible for the right candidate with a notice period
Hours:
Either full or part time considered

 

We’re looking for a confident and creative interior designer or interior architect to join our small studio for a maternity cover contract.
You’ll be supporting the design and delivery of high-end interiors—working closely with the studio director across all stages, from concept design through to final installation.
 

This is a pivotal role in a small team, so we're after someone who’s technically strong, self-motivated, and excited by both the creative and practical sides of interiors. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Assisting in the design and delivery of active projects, as well as new schemes from concept stage

  • Producing drawing packages, mood boards, FF&E schedules, and client presentations

  • Liaising with suppliers, fabricators, contractors, and consultants

  • Attending site visits and assisting with project coordination and delivery

     

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE:
(essential qualities and experience) 

  • 3–5+ years' experience in an interior design or interior architecture studio (UK residential preferred)

  • Experience taking projects through from concept to completion

  • Initiative, focus, and a calm, solutions-led mindset

  • Positivity, resilience, and a genuine passion for thoughtful design

  • Excellent spatial awareness and confident material sensibility

  • Strong visual communication and presentation skills

  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team

  • Proficiency in Vectorworks (or similar), Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel

  • Confident communicator with fluent written and spoken English

  • Adaptable, quick to learn, and well-organised

  • London-based (interviews will be held in person)

THE DETAILS: 

  • Freelance maternity cover with potential to extend

  • Start date: ideally July/August but we can be flexible for the right candidate with a notice period

  • Studio-based role in De Beauvoir Town, London, with the option to work from home one day a week if needed

  • Either full or part time considered

  • Core studio hours are 9:30am–6:00pm

  • We’re a small, collaborative team and welcome applicants from all backgrounds

  • Please note: this is a maternity cover position and we are unable to offer visa sponsorship
